![]() HORROR MOVIE: Friday the 13th in 3-D VICTIMS: 42 CONDITION: Not himself FEAR: Silver Bullets |
When he is not tearing at the flesh of decaying corpses or howling at the moon, Mike Essl is either designing someone's logo or planning a safe route home, away from the glow of moonlight. In the auto-biographical film "Wolfboy in New York" (1977) Essl portrayed himself as a man caught between the ambitions of a young graphic designer and a man haunted by the mystic curse of the werewolf. While being educated at The Cooper Union School of Art, Essl split his time between studies and the start of his career. During these busy years, his work included a stint at Microsoft and art direction of the original duracell.com for SiteSpecific. Since graduation, Essl has taught as an adjunct faculty member at The Cooper Union for one year and continues to teach web design classes for United Digital Artists, SVA and RISD continuing education. He is now the Vice President of The Chopping Block, Inc. (because he lost the coin toss). His personal ramblings can be found at essl.com. | |||||||||
